No.51/2006 Elbas in KONTEK - Interactive kick-off and simulated trading in the Elbas system 19-21 September 2006

At 08:00 a.m on 25 September 2006 the intra day trading platform Elbas opens the hours of 26 September for trading in Nord Pool Spot’s German bidding area KONTEK controlled by Vattenfall Europe Transmission GmbH. Elbas is open 24 hours a day every day of the week including Saturdays and Sundays.

To ensure that all participants are familiar with the ELBAS system by the launch on 25 September, Nord Pool Spot AS is arranging a joint simulated trading session during week 38 on the 19, 20 and 21 September.

If you want to take part in the simulated trading sessioin, please send us an e-mail to elbas@npspot.com with information on who will be responsible for trading. We will send you a user manual, a digipass and a temporary username, which will be associated to your digipass. The simulated trading will take place on our test site http://www.elbas2.net/. The test site works exactly like the real trading system.
 
You will be able to test the system freely and at all hours of the day, but to ensure that there will be enough trading activity we recommend that you do the most of your testing during the following hours:

• 19 September 09-11 (CET) and 13-15 (CET)
• 20 September 09-11 (CET) and 13-15 (CET)
• 21 September 09-11 (CET) and 13-15 (CET)

During testing the helpdesk will be assisting you with any questions you might have concerning the trading system.

Remember that until 31 December 2006 there are no fixed or variable fees for trading Elbas in Germany. If you sign the Elbas and/or Elspot agreement within 31 December 2006 there are no annual fixed fees for Elbas in Germany in 2007. Variable fees as of 1 January 2005 for trading Elspot is 0,03 EUR/MWh and for trading Elbas 0,08 EUR/MWh.
