No.69/2008 Re-introduction of the KONTEK bidding area and the CBO service from 14 October 2008

As informed in Exchange information 67/2008 the European Market Coupling Company (EMCC) has suspended the market coupling on the interconnections between Denmark West and Germany as well as Denmark East and Germany from 9 October. Based on this, Nord Pool Spot AS will re-introduce the German bidding area KONTEK as well as the CBO service on the interconnection between Denmark West and Germany from 14 October 2008.

The system of explicit auctions of day-ahead transmission capacity on the interconnection between Denmark West and Germany, which is operated by E.ON Netz and Energinet.dk, was re-introduced on 9 October. The day-ahead capacity on the Kontek interconnection is given to Nord Pool Spot’s Elbas intraday market until Nord Pool Spot’s German bidding area KONTEK is being re-introduced on 14 October.

The former KONTEK and CBO trading portfolios for all participants will be reactivated and available for bidding on 14 October for the delivery day 15 October.
