No.02/2007 Elbas expanded to cover all of Germany
(Lysaker, 8 January) Nord Pool Spots expands its intra day trading system Elbas to cover all of Germany 10 January 2007.
The intra day trading system Elbas was introduced in KONTEK (Nord Pool Spot’s German bidding area, controlled by Vattenfall Europe Transmission GmbH) on 25 September 2006. With the new automatic scheduling system introduced by the German TSOs, Elbas is now to be launched in all of Germany. On the 10 January 2007, Elbas opens the hours of 11 January for intra day trading in all four German TSO areas.
“We are pleased to introduce Elbas in all of Germany on 10 January 2007 as we promised the market in September 2006. Our German Elbas participants can choose in which areas they want to be active and the reporting is handled automatically as we know it from the Nordic Elbas region today. Our next step will be to introduce Elbas in Jutland – Denmark, early spring 2007,” says CEO of Nord Pool Spot Jørn Limann.
