Change in calculation of closing prices:

From the 1st of april 2010 Nord Pool Gas will change the price calculation from a non-weighted average of the day's trades to a weighted average of the day's trades.

"This has been a wish from our customers for a long time, and as other exchanges in Europe use this model, NPG has decided to also implement it", says CEO Kenneth Dupont.

Turnover NPG 2010:

January: 702.048 MWh

February: 642.360 MWh

March (mtd): 176.640 MWh

Each day after trading hours the day ahead, SWAP day ahead, Balance of Month and month ahead closing prices are displayed.

21.12.09:

Changes in the NPG Rulebook

As presented at the Market Council on the 2nd of dcember, the daily nomination reports from Nord Pool Gas to the exchange participants will expire from the 4th of january.

Therefore changes have been made in appendix 1, section 5.1 and appendix 2, section 2.1 in the appendices of the NPG Rulebook.

On Wednesday the 2nd of december Nord Pool Gas held the semiannual Market Council meeting where participants and representatives of Nord Pool Gas meet to discuss different topics concerning the Danish market for natural gas.

Nord Pool Gas reaches 1000 % of last years turnover.

 

11.11.09:

The first Balance of Month contract was traded on the 10th of november 2009.

01.10.09:

New products at Nord Pool Gas from 1st October 2009:

1st October the Danish gas exchange, Nord Pool Gas introduced two new products:

Swap Denmark/Germany and Balance of the Month.

The first swap contract for 30 MW was traded at EUR 0.90/MWh.

The trade was concluded between the market maker of the swap product, HNG Midt-Nord Handel and another participant at the gas exchange.

Please note that the change in the Norwegian bidding areas affects which geographical areas the terms NO1, NO2, NO3 and NO4 refer to. This means that a direct comparison between present and historical data for Norwegian bidding areas is not possible.
