Ramping
The HVDC connections between Jutland and Norway / Sweden – Skagerak and Konti Skan - are subject to specific ramping restrictions imposed by the system operators Svenska Kraftnät, Energinet.dk and Statnett. The restrictions imply that trade plans between Jutland and the Nordic synchronous system cannot be changed with more than 600 MW from one hour to the the next. This restriction is put on each of the two connections individually and as a limit on the gross incoming/out going power flow from Jutland on the two connections added.
Ramping restrictions of maximum 600 MW difference from one hour to the next also applies for Kontek (Denmark East <-> Germany).
When carrying out the ramping, SESAM aims at minimising the ramping's influence on the buyers' and sellers' economic gain.
